Open Tryouts for Mexican Junior and Women’s National Team Announced
The Méxican National Softball Federation will hold open tryouts for the Junior National Team and the Women’s National Team in Irvine, Calif. on June 20 and 21, 2015.
The Junior National Team will host a training camp, January 28 until February 1, 2015 in Baja California, México to select national prospects (México residents) to be selected for the Méxican Junior National Team. Players that reside in the United States can also attend the training camp.
Another training camp will be held on March 26 until April 1, 2015 in Culiacan, Sinaloa (Optional for USA Residents). Players that are USA residents will have to tryout on June 20 and 21, 2015 in Irvine, Calif. in order to be elegible to represent Team México at the ISF World Championships, August 7-16, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The Women’s National Team will hold a training camp on March 26 until April 1, 2015 in Culiacan, Sinaloa (Optional for USA Residents) and June 21-28, 2015 in Irvine, Calif. to prepare for the USA World Cup of Softball June 29-July 5, 2015 to be held in Irvine, Calif. and the Canadian Fastpitch Open which will be held in Canada on July 7-13, 2015.
These events will be in preparation for the ISF World Championship which will be held on July 15-25, 2016 in Vancouver, Canada, this event will host athletes from more than 40 countries.
NOTE: Once a player is selected to represent Team Mexico the Mexican National Softball Federation will cover air fare, hotels, meals for all events as well as medical insurance for any sports related injury that would occur at the events.
The cost to try out is NON-refundable: $60 which includes a Team México t-shirt.
1) Players must have a Méxican lineage (decents)from either parent or grand parents. Players must complete and finalize the necessary paper work at the Méxican consulate in the United States in order to obtain a Méxican Passport. Players must also have a valid United States passport that allows them to travel in and out of the United States of America.
2) Athletes selected will have to commit to participate in the all events mentioned above to become members of Team México.
3) Athletes must bring their own equipment, a team México T-shirt will be provided to all participants.
